... about Siri Soule
When she was two, her family settled in southern Humboldt County, California in1979. Her sense of being was nurtured by environmentalism, eccentric artists, outlaw growers, from inside the cool of the redwood forests and by the wild Pacific Ocean shore. In 1999, she found her new home in the 'wild west' of Taos County, on the Enchanted Circle of New Mexico. Siri reveled in the expansive 360 views of land and sky, either full of sunshine and immense clouds or the brightest stars and coyote calls at night. Along the way she met the love of her life and they began a journey to a full life together, including a 14 year self-build of an off-grid and green home, days swimming in the Rio Grande, nights playing with other artist friends that found their way here also, and eventually becoming loving parents to two boys. All while finding work that would put food on the table and feed for their souls. She now shares her life with her green home builder and chef husband; two fun, smart, and ridiculously cute sons; a very messy home studio; 2 sweet dogs; and a bit of kick boxing among friends.
“I love the specific smell, the rich color, the soft hand and especially, the drape of this leather. With decades of design and handcraft as a foundation, I began researching, exploring and experimenting with techniques. I wanted to make something beautiful to adorn the body while respecting this beautiful and earthly material.” - Siri Soule
